3M™ VHB™ Tape 5909 is a double-sided foam tape using a modified acrylic adhesive. It’s an easier permanent bonding solution than mechanical fasteners or liquid adhesives. This conformable foam tape provides a permanent seal against moisture and supports the use of thinner, light weight, and dissimilar materials. The bond works with substrates ranging from low- to high-surface-energy such as metals, glass, plastics, and paints. Its conformable foam supports good contact between substrates, even when slightly mismatched. The 3M™ VHB™ Tape 5909 is a slightly thicker version of 3M™ VHB™ Tape 5906. Both are a part of the 3M™ 5952 tape family, sharing all the same strengths while differing only in thickness, color, and liner type.
